What happened to my sales ?

At the end of October I look back at the current month and wonder "where did my sales go"? This has been the lowest sales month for me in nearly 2 years, certainly for 2012. Now I don't sell $100s of images every month, but I have had a steady increase month on month and quarter by quarter. I can see views increasing, but the sales aren't coming through. Anybody have the same experience? Is it possibly subject matter related?

Thanks for all the encouragement. November has stared off as October ended. I guess time will tell when the tide will turn again.

Hey Neal, there does not seem to be any rime or reason for the ups and downs in sales, just supply and demand. October for me was above average with an RPD of $3.45, but June and July were my worst months for some time. Keep on riding the roller coaster and keep putting up your great images.

Sales were definitely down for me in October. :( I hope this trend quickly reverses itself for November!

I had 70% more sales in October than I had in September, but made 15% less. RPD was about 2/5ths what it was. Inconsistent year, significantly down on last year.

yeah true...sometimes everyone passes through such dumb period. But it will change automatically if you continue with uploading. In this October I had my highest number of monthly sales.

I guess we all have a reduction of sales from time to time, in my case July was terreible beacuse I only got 36 sales, and in the other hand October could be my best month ever with 115 sales so far (now it is tied with August). Don't worry this will change.

I had two sales instead of the three I had last month, but both of them were credit sales and the ones last month were all subs. I wish I had enough sales to be statistically meaningful!

I think it comes and goes for everyone....mine has been consistently going for the last few months. However, I know it won't keep on like that. Your portfolio is very good but maybe a little limiting. Like mentioned before your portfolio might benefit from images that cover a wider spectrum. Good luck!!

I got one sale this month which is at or slightly below average. My quarterly revenue is around average, but that was from a burst of sales in August.

Also for me october sales are down respect to the previous months. I hope this will be only an exception and november could be more good again.

october has not been a bad month for me but not as good
as 2011 october which was among the best of the last two years.
normally the reports of the different contributors are quite contradictory except during the time from april to june (the famous changes D.T. made) where eweryone complained.

Well for me this month is the BME in big so big that this month sale is equal to my first year sale and equal to last quarter sale.

I have consistent sales, but the biggest problem we face is that a greater proportion of sales are dominated by subscriptions. It's why everyone jumps for joy at the relative number of sales at a place like SS, but the real truth is that one decent credit sale here beats the numbers every time. It's ludicrous. Like many other here I may pull the plug.
