It is seen that "love is in the air". St. Valentine is almost here and many people feel it. Today I and one of my friend spoke, drinking a delicious coffee, about Valentine gifts, esp. what we give to our husbands. During the talk, my friend asked me what is my favorite romantic love movie?

My favorite love movie is Persuasion :) with Sally Hawkins and Rupert Penry Jones ***.com and I am crazy, nuts, head over heels for chocolates :). This is the gift that always works with me.

1- love song is an italian one: "A te"(Jovannotti)
2- book about love "Camere separate" (Tondelli) or "Death in Venice" (T. Mann) they are about gay love, I'm not but they're great books.
3- gift... maybe my young son ;)

2) book? does literature count? Shakespeare's Much ado about nothing . incidentally, it was also made into a movie with yes, again.. Kate Beckinsale.. and another of my fav actress.. Emma Thompson .
other book ? again , another Shakespeare ... Midsummer night's dream, which again was made into a movie with another fave of mine Michelle Pfeiffer , and three other wonderful young actresses .
3) song? romantic songs? so many, but i would say any of the love tunes written by jerome kern or cole porter that's been redone by stacey kent . or michel legrand or carole king, if you want to move a little to our times. if you're spanish, i would say literally every song by Luis Miguel which is actually evergreen latin music.

Hi Starblue... As you said it isn't easy to pick up, since I believe there are many movies, songs, words, that may be rememberings of things lived in the past.
A couple of my favorites songs are: In english ***.com with Michael Stipe and Coldplay.

My partner and I gave up exchanging gifts a long time ago. Seemed a waste of money on candies and flowers that don't last very long. Instead we enjoy a lovely dinner together, either at home or at our favorite restaurant and we talk about the wonderful journey we have shared over the past, almost. 25 years. The memory of time spent together lasts much longer than an over priced bunch of roses. Love to all on Valentines day!

I can say my favorite book about love is "The Art of Listening to the Heart Beats" - Jean- Philipp Sendker, this book have a lovely concepts. One of my favorite love songs is " In this life" of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, I don´t like to much the bit, but the lyrics are lovely, and romantic.
