Where does it lead to?

A hypothetical question. 150,000+ contributors , 19 million+ images online, every day, competition is getting tougher and tougher each day . Creativity needs to take a notch up of each day that pass by.

Just like this image

trying to come up with something interesting about humming birds in flight.

I initially thought becoming a stock contributor back in 2006 and seen possible potential , but got busy with other priorities, so stock photography was put on the side. Regrets…regrets…I should have done it back in 2006

I sometimes tell myself the same thing. It seems that there were fewer images on the web back then, which could have resulted in your images being more easily found. Everytime I come across the portfolio of someone who started in 2005-2006, they always have at least 20 000 to 30 000 sales. So yes sometimes it is frustrating but as these others said, just keep uploading and in a few years, who knows what will happen...

Your observations about competition is right but there is another point.......... every man and his dog think they are photographers and many have very good equipment............. so what do I conclude ? Concept images are created in your head and are not easy for writers of magazine and newspaper articles to reproduce so they will still sell. Really good landscape pictures of resorts in good weather are needed for tourists magazines. Portraits of politicians sell well.
