Why I love Stock Photography. How about you?

Having worked my entire life dealing with the public, raising children, and being the all around "doer of everything" for my family, I found myself retired and somewhat disabled due to some back problems. I have always loved art and photography, I have a closet full of cameras and lenses that are gathering dust since the introduction of Digital cameras.

With all children now happily married and raising their own families, I began to take pictures and tried to learn all I could about creating digital illustrations, using a combination of images and graphics. At first this was to fight the boredom and occasional slight depression of being unable to work. Then I read an article about stock photography and decided to give it a shot. To my surprise, my images started selling, since then, I have not be disappointed and just love doing what I am doing now. I know I am never going to get rich doing this, but the joy I get every time one of my images is downloaded makes the effort very easy and keeps me busy.

Thanks for reading this, (my first blog). Now, How about you?

Very nice flowers and butterflies border in your blog. I was drawn back to the camera after being away from it for years. Work and stolen equipment got in the way. Stock has exposed me to so much more than just photos. Always inspiring looking at others skills and products.

It gives me an outlet that is all mine. I have spent the last 40 years being Mother daughter Wife Grandmother trying to be all for everyone. Now that I have discovered Stock Photography, I can do a little for myself. Just going for a walk in the mountains gives me a chance to express myself through Photography. and if someone likes what I do GREAT!! if not oh well.....
