I'm working on a book cover and I have in mind a specific concept to use for the cover and have not been able to find any photos even close. Hoping someone can capture my vision for me.
The book contains encouragement for care givers. I envision the cover to be a photo of an elderly person in a wheelchair angled looking away from the camera, three quarter profile (or nearly facing completely away), with a younger person (preferably female) standing behind the chair with her hand on the shoulder of the person in the chair--looking in the same direction. I want them to be outside or at a large window looking out with the background very bright so that they are almost silhouetted. I want the background out of focus, with the entire shot very soft. I need all of this more to the left of a portrait photo with copy space in the lighter brighter part of the photo top and right and a darker portion of the photo at the bottom for more copy bottom and right.
Possible variation would be adding a child to the right side of the two with a hand on the younger woman's arm, looking up at her and trying to get her attention.
I'm open to any use of color as long as it's soft, not sharp and dominant.
Anyone have anything that I can consider for this project?
I realized I probably should add just a bit more information. The clothing on the participants needs to be conservative and NON medical. I'd like the ethnicity to not be extreme, but should probably lean toward Caucasian.
I have a signed contract on this cover and should probably show something to my client in week or two, if just a comp. I'm going to be working on other concepts, but would like to know if anyone thinks this "ideal" shot is possible and how long it might take to get.
Not a firm deadline. Just corresponded with the client, and they are still working on a rewrite of the book, so I probably have a few weeks. I'm working up other concepts based on some photos I've already found, just in case, but I can picture what it would look like with the setup I described above and would dearly love to be able to present that one to the client.
I might be able to do it with these models if you think that they are what you are looking for. click here to see models. Please let me know if you are interested and I'll see if I can arrange a session.
Godfer, Those models would work fine. Just no medical clothes. I want this to represent a woman at home taking care of her elderly parent. The mood needs to introspective, but not sad. This is a book of encouragement. Thanks!
Feel free to play with poses, angles, and lighting. I'm not a photographer myself, so I'm very willing for you to do something better than what I've tried to describe. I just know I haven't found it yet searching the database using various keywords that seem to apply. Thanks for helping!
Have you had a chance to do anything with this request or are you going to do anything? My client has asked for a progress report, so I thought I'd see if you were going to be able to do something. If not, just let me know so I can go with plan B.
