Does anyone else feel as if some days your work is just what they want and other days oyu cant get a single thing online? The reasons for refusal often are bland and not relevant or is it just me? Does everything have to be studio white and pin sharp?
We don't expect everything to be perfect, it may seem harsh but refusals make photographers improve, in our long experience. Don't take refusals personally but rather try to see the point of the reviewer. Reasons for refusals are general indeed, but, unless they reviewer made a mistake, they do apply. Last but not least, you can contact the reviewer by replying to the refusal email and ask for more help if needed.
One of the most refusal message is: "Subject of your submission is already well covered in our data base" but the photographer (often exclusive here) doesn't have in his portfolio any pictures with the subject involve in refusal reason...
It should be good in future maybe for exclusive one to permitted to have in their portfolio one or two photos without getting this annoying reason.
