The Church of Saint Louis serves the community of Latin rite, i.e. Roman Catholics. It was built in 1863 by the Capuchins, who first arrived in Lebanon in 1628, and who continue to run the church. The Neo-Romanesque stone structure, restored in 2002, makes this church one of the most beautiful in Beirut.
