Statues of Hindu gods and idols at sunset in the courtyard of the rebuild Shree Swaminarayan temple in Bhuj, India. The Gujarat Earthquake of January 2001 destroyed much of Bhuj, including most of the earlier, historic temple. Bhuj, in the far northwestern corner of India near the border with Pakistan, is not often on a tourist to India’s itinerary. The magnificent new temple, build on the banks of Hamirsar Lake, is therefore not often seen by foreigners. This is one photo from a series of four.
