(Phalacrocorax lucidus) A member of the cormorant family Phalacrocoracidae. The White-breasted Cormorant is the only form of Great Cormorant found in sub-Saharan Africa. The immature birds have white feathers all the way down the front, and not just on the neck as do the adult birds.
