Historic library of Julius Celsus in Ephesus, this ancient building is one of the most spectacular buildings in Ephesus, and it is well known as local and international landmark of Turkey. The library was built to serve as a monumental tomb for Julius Celsus. Celsus is buried in a sarcophagus beneath the library, in the main entrance. It is also very popular as touristic attraction and travel destination.
