The Cordoba Cathedral bell tower with Espana flag flying above as seen through one of the archways. Originally a Visigothic Christian church in 600 AD, then it became the Great Mosque of Cordoba (Mezquita) in 784 AD and then in 1236 King Ferdinand III of Castile converted the mosque back into a Christian church the Catedral de Cordoba. There may be some reference to today in New York where a Muslim mosque named Cordoba is to be built by the 9/11 Twin Towers.
