One of the many small tarns (lake), in the Lake district national park, is Tewet tarn. Nestled above Keswick on a hilltop, but under Blencathra mountain, it is an excellent spot for wildlife. A lone Hawthorn tree provides cover for small birds. The name Tewet, is a local term for a Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus).
