The little traditional village of Tangyar, in the Nubra Valley (part of Ladakh, Indian Himalayas) in springtime (May. Though built from mud (sun dried) bricks all houses have flat roofs. The little rainfall that the area receives is no threat to these. The roofs are used for storage of animal fodder, twigs and dung, which is used as fuel.
