Long Meg is the matriarch of the 'Long Meg & her Daughters' stone circle in Cumbria, England. Here, she is viewed from inside the circle with a druid sacrifice at her foot (feet?!) The poet William Wordsworthg was inspired to write 'next to Stonehenge it is beyond dispute the most notable relick (sic) that this or probably any other country contains.' Local legend claims that Long Meg was a witch.
