Portugal, Lisbon: monument to the discoveries; known as padrao dos descobrimentos , the monument was constructed as temporary for the portuguese world fair in 1940; it celebrates the portuguese which participate to the big maritime discoveries between the 15th and 16th centuries; the construction high of 52 meters was carved into the shape of the prow of a navire in front of the estuary of the tag.
