Emperor Ojin, Empress Jingu and Emperor Chuai of Japan are enshrined in the main shrine of Kamakura city on the top of the hill. The present shrine was constructed in the Edo period, but it's origins are ancient. The cherry blossom alley leading to the shrine called Dankatsura (avenue of cherry trees) was constructed by Minamoto Yoritomo (the first shogun of Japan) as an offering to the God before.
