Although we live in different hemispheres, there is an ancient essential ritual repeated year after year. It is practiced all over the world and it has evolved from small-scale production of primary crops to nowadays intensive farming. Agriculture, seen both as traditional and modern, micro and large-scale, is the focus of our current assignment.
Illustrate actions from plant cultivation to harvesting, from plowing the land to building irrigation systems, from breeding livestock to crop fertilization. While many people still practice home farming as simple means of sustenance, the vast majority of world population relies on industrial agriculture to supply food. Focus on organic but also on industrial food production processes. Show rural farmers working the land with horse drawn plows but also large machines harvesting produce. Include specialties from ecoagriculture to plant genetics and specialists from agronomists to food researchers. Your setting can be rural or urban, personal gardens or industrial greenhouses, the field or the apartment balcony, the market or the laboratory.
Best agriculture instances and most fertile imaginations will be rewarded with $300 for the first place, $200 for the second place and $100 for the third place. The winners will also receive our official Dreamstime T-shirts for their strenuous agricultural labor.
I`m kind of new around here and I wanna participate at the contest but I will use some more details. Can you please give me a link about rules and other stuff!!
You need to have at least 50 online images in order to participate in our contests. Upload must be made from the assignment submission page link here . There are no other special rules except for perhaps making sure your submissions match the topic of the content :).
Well, finally I may have the opportunity! I've submitted a number of images detailing agri-business and they keep getting rejected because the reviewer(s) don't know what they're looking at. A giant silage bag? What's that? REJECT! All the farms have giant plastic bags now, the silo is becoming obsolete!
Great assignment. I have some ok selling pictures of subsistence agriculture in the remote inlands of the Philippines (Bukidnon, Mindanao). Three weeks ago, I planned an expedition there again with lightboxes and a model. Perhaps I did it, or not, but I certainly won't upload those shots to microstock for 0.20 euro subscription. Sorry. Good luck to all the others.
I uploaded an image following the assignment link, chose the level 5 option. Chose the file using the browse option on the link and entered the 4 digit security code. Screen just stayed the same for ages, eventually I opened Dreamstime in a new window. The file I uploaded was in my unfinished files, I completed all fields as normal and submited. Today file has been accepted but just appears to be for sale as a reg RF image. I even wrote it was for assignment in the editorial section. Does this just mean it's been rejected for assignment but is ok for RF stock? Or have I just gone mad? :-)
Thanks in advance for any help. This is the image:
