Very quick site check please!

Hi all,

I've just updated the gallery on my website and have been told by someone that it wasn't working for them. Works fine for me, although a bit glitchy on mobile devices, but not going to lose sleep on that for now.

If anyone has time to just check the site, gallery page in particular to make sure they can see images okay, it would be massively appreciated.

Hi Stuart,

I've checked, it looks nice and goes very sleek and quick.

The only thing is that in the gallery, I cannot see the bottom of the picture shown, and there is no scroll bar. F11 does solve it, but I guess that is not what you would want.

I am using IE 8, on a 1600 x 900 resolution. Hope that helps :)

Edit: I've checked in FF as well, but your gallery is not showing there. Just the blue header with a black body where the gallery should be.

Ah, so maybe FF is the issue. Will have to get this sorted.

I hate web stuff... such as pain compared to print.

I'm not getting anything with FF either.

I took the liberty to look at your source. DOM and document. handling in javascript differ between FF and IE. Since you use SimpleViewer, look at this FAQ about FireFox problems.

You might also Google for "simpleviewer firefox problem" and read the forums.

And, when you go to your blog there are no links back to your site other than the fist line on the right. There is some coding you can do to get rid of the blogger bar heading. If you do that and put some big links to take you back to your home page that would make the blog seem more like it was a part of your main site. Gallery doesn't work for me either - Firefox on a Mac.

How to get rid of Blogger Navigation Bar

Red: Thanks, have done that.

Fleyeing: Yes, I've looked into that before but I am no webmaster and although I can dig around in code a little, sorting the Firefox issue has beaten me. It's still not working, even though I've now gone back to an older version of Simpleviewer.

So, at present it seems that Safari and some (if not all) versions of IE work correctly with the site and Firefox is okay with everything except arguably the most important bit: the gallery!

I'm going to enquire with a few people about getting the whole site put together properly. That way, it's someone else's problem.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Hugo, I did my research before I removed the nav bar several years ago in a blog I created and found this in Google Groups, posted in 2008 (I had to dig deep to find this answer again). They don't like you to remove the nav bar but it is not against their TOS -

While we don't recommend or support the removal of the Blogger navbar, there is nothing in our Terms of Service that explicitly mandate its use.

Hello again!

I've now had someone with some skill sort out the website gallery for me! Hooray, it's sorted and seems to be working across the board... but I would very much appreciate a quick once-over by anyone with 2 minutes to spare. Particularly anyone who posted above when the site was not working correctly.

The address is http://www.stuartkey.co.uk/gallery/

Many thanks!
