New. 5 images accepted!

Hi everyone! Just joined here! So far I have sent in 8 images and 5 were accepted. The ones that weren't accepted are due to total stupidity on my part--I had faceless pictures of models that were still pretty recognizable, I guess! Oh well, lesson learned! When in doubt, have a model release!

Just wondering--how long did it take you to sell your first image?

I know that I need to keep uploading. I have several images pending now. Fingers crossed! I don't have much to choose from in my portfolio right now. I've been doing business as a portrait photographer but the model releases that I used for my business were not as thorough as the dreamstime MR, so I'm in the process of contacting some past models to sing a new MR. Most of them are excited about the possibility of being in a magazine!

Welcome and good luck. First sale took a loooong time for me. mostly because I joined...upload about 5 images and then got busy for a year doing other things...I think it was about 5 or 6 months before my first sale.

Welcome on board Katiecawood! I think it may better for you to upload other images without waiting for selling the first image.
In fact, with a portfolio of only 5 images, it is very unlikely to sell quickly the first image.
Personally I uploaded at the beginning only one image in january. This single image was sold in july. Only with a portfolio of 100 images I started to sell 4-5 images per month.

Thanks everyone! I have more images pending now. I'm still trying to get a feel for what is accepted and what is not, and I'll be uploading a lot more soon. Especially once I get these model releases signed.
