Adobe Photoshop Elements 11

Just wondering can you get the kind of quaity need for stock photo's from Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 or do I need to spend $600.00 or so for the full blown Photoshop? I know that it helps to start with a good image.

I am working with both CS3 and elements 10.
For doing the basics like light, contrast, cutting... elements is more than enough. For more ambitious things you have to spend more money.

I just found out that that I can get an educational discount on the new Photoshop Extended CS6 for about $230.00, may be time for upgrade.

I've been using Elements 8 for the past 2 years and all my photos here and in 10 other agencies have been accepted.

If you need more than Elements to fix your photos, then you probably need to adjust the way you are shooting.

If you want to do some creative manipulations, then consider Lightroom or Photoshop. Elements is basically Photoshop minus prepress features.

No you won't need anything more than Photoshop Elements 11. It does everything you need and more. Even processes Raw files with the built in Adobe Camera Raw. PSE 11 comes with the new upgraded Camera Raw 2012....And some people i know on here with a couple hundred files online have never used any software at all, although i do not recommend that. I just signed up at PhotoshopElementsUser dot com which was in my PSE box and was well worth the 79 bucks or so for 2 years of membership & magazines mailed to your home. Their online videos for members are second to none and the tutorials are by the top people in the PS business and have ways to do most anything you can do in the regular CS. and look up photoshopelements channel on youtube and see what all the new 11 can do, it is really nice.

I bought photoshop elements 11 a couple months ago. It seems to work for me fairly well.

It does however have limited support for 16bit tiff files, has anybody found this to be a problem?

No, in a blog from Yuri Arcurs he says to shoot Raw, process in anything except Camera Raw (which he says is total crap due to the color algorithms used) and to save as 8bit TIF (he specifically says "not 16") to process in Photoshop and very last step is sharpen and save as jpeg for submission. I'd provide a link but it is his own blog from his competing website so DT won't allow that link, you'll have to go there on your own
