Hello to all. After some search in the forums I have not been able to find an answer, and in the photos database both options appear. The question is: Do silhouettes need a MR? With silhouettes I mean photographs, not illustrations.
Use the curves tool or the exposure tool in Photoshop to increase the exposure of the photo. Increase it as much as you can, without caring about noise or anything. Then see if you can identify the person. If yes, don't risk uploading it. Not because it might be rejected but because you want to be safe.
You can take care of this problem by using the "burn" tool on the silhoutte. Just burn the face and other parts with a moderately soft brush and intensity at 100% (effective for "shadows") and preserve color/tone should be off. That would make sure nothing can be recognized. My assignment photo was treated with this method and got accepted without MR.
You may still need a release for the silhouette of the world's tallest man if he is standing next to a height scale or something. Stock is weird.
Here's one that got on there without MR:
