Over Four Bucks on 1 sale today !

Mudplucker
Yes, it is true, i earned $4.09 on this photo today from 1 sale, the 2nd time it has sold since recently submitting it. Also received some valuable info from DT regarding shooting and submitting photos in a series, which is to load them all up at once and let DT choose which ones they think will be good sellers. Great timing on this info because I have my first 2 real series shoots coming up in September, which will totally and completely blow away any work i have submitted up until today..... OH YEAH, THANKS DT !!!!!

Don't understand that...

All photos in unfinished files must be completed with keywords, categories, etc...After that will be in Pending Files. A reviewer come and analyze all photos and some of them can be approved, and others can be refused with the reason - "u have already similar photos in your portfolio".

If u want to submit image without info then "submitting an image for the KeyMasters program is charged with $0.6 per image, which will be deducted once you click Submit. If the image is rejected, you will be refunded."

So...nobody will choose the image for free i suppose...think there are many images per day for review. They don;t have free time to do that ...

To clarify, i mean if i have 20 images that i shot in a particular series that DT wants me to upload all 20 at once so they can accept the best ones and they will reject the ones they don't want.

If i submit 10 now they may take all 10, but then if I submit the other 10 photos 3 weeks later they may reject some or all for being too similar, even though they might have preferred to have the last batch of photos instead of the ones they had already approved 3 weeks earlier.... (this could be due to the way they are cropped, their ability to deliver the message or any number of other reasons)

So bottom line is that if i upload them all at once DT will take great care to select the MONEYMAKERS, which i why we are all here :)

Very bad idea as long as acceptance ratio has any significance

I agree - with this approach your acceptance ratio will plummet, resulting in some penalties - smaller upload limit, perhaps less beneficial photo placement in their search engine, perhaps longer review times etc. Every time my AR went below 70% I saw a drop in my income, so I'm trying to stay above that level (currently at 76%).

So you think i should choose the ones that will make the final cut myself and only upload enough (non-similar) photos so that they will all be accepted ??? I did not know that AR had something to do with placement, therefore I will upload only ones that qualify as "Yuri Killers" from here on out...

thanks for the information you guys !!!!!

Mudplucker, life is a great teacher, as the others have said, you submit 20 photos and only 2 accepted, your approval ratio plummets. It doesnt harm DT, but harms you, so wise up a little. You yourself must know what your best shots are, quality wise, and different enough, so that as many submissions as possible are accepted.
On quite a few occasions now a reviewer has knocked back an image, that they said wouldnt sell, I pushed it, and had them entered, and they have sold. Youve got to remember that DT,s reviewers are just photographers like us, maybe theyve been with DT a bit longer, but they are not by any means the Oracle. They get things wrong too. Read more, and learn to relax!
