Use of MagicLantern in Stock Photography

The more I read about MG for Canon, the more intrigued I become.

I need advice and experience of seniors who have/are using ML for their stocks.

Is ML better than Canon firmware?

BTW, I am looking to use ML for still photography and not for Video.

I was toying around with putting ML on my camera, but I'm actually scared to do it!

It seems like you can do some cool effects with it, and it would be great for self portraits so you wouldn't have to keep hitting the remote button (or using the self timer).

You can also get an intervalometer for cheap online and do some of the same things as ML, without voiding your warranty!

I use it all the time - it doesn't replace the firmware. It just adds new features.
I usually use the peak-focusing feature.

Check with your mfg and see if it voids the warranty.

No, ML does not void the the warranty. Canon has already responded to the ML addition. I think there's more info on the ML site.

not sure about ML but I've been using CHDK on my compact for quite some time. Not really for stock as such but a couple of images have gotten some sales on a few stock agencies.

Voiding warrenty might not be an issue since it does not write anything to the ROM of the camera, everything stays on the memory card only. So removing the card brings the cam back to default state

it gives some really neat features (especially scripts) so it's well worth the effort
