In the light of recent discoveries beyond our solar system, we've brainstormed a new assignment and we think you'll love it: A sky full of stars.

Some of us have been fascinated by stars since our childhood. Some of us have dreamt of exploring the outer space and become astronauts. It's possible some of us didn't get to be astronauts, but no problem, here's your chance to show us your view of the great space and win extra cash to buy yourself the ultimate telescope to be closer to the stars.

Shooting the stars may prove difficult due to the night light, but the universe has taught us that nothing is impossible. Using long exposure, or by doing astrophotography with a telescope, you may get amazing views of the night skies. Take us in your journey and show us the beautiful starry night. Get your tent and literally sleep under the moonlight. Capture the dazzling star trails. What are they? Star trails are actually a reflection of our planet Earth’s rotation or spin on its axis. Fix your camera, set the long exposure and show us the continuous movement of stars on the sky dome. Feeling dizzy?

Home to our planet Earth, the Milky Way measures some 120,000-180,000 light-years in diameter. Did you know that it has between 100-400 billion stars? Gotta catch them all. In the meantime, we would love to see images with its constellations. Before going to shoot the Milky Way, do some research to make sure you capture it right.

There are never too many images of the Northern lights. And there are also just a few of the Southern lights. While the Aurora Borealis is more reachable, we recommend some places where you can go and capture the Aurora Australis: South Georgia, Stewart Island (New Zealand), The Falkland Islands, Ushuaia (Argentina).

Use creative lighting techniques to bring out the best in both worlds, the human and the celestial. And if a falling star happens to leave a trail, make sure you catch it. Are there any photographers specialized in astrophotography among us? We would be very happy to make a great collection of the galaxy in its depth.

So, if you happen to spot some waving hands from the Moon holding a giant billboard that reads “The party is here”, you'll have all the chances to win $300 (first place), $200 (second place) and $100 (the third place) along with a branded t-shirt.

Upload both Royalty Free and Editorial files as follows and mark them as "assignment files":

1. upload the image via FTP or via upload page.
The image is now in your unfinished files, please do not edit the image from the unfinished files folder at all, instead go to the next step.
2. go to assignment page, choose escalate to level 5 or sell the rights option and hit submit.
3. choose the file you will be submitting to the assignment from the row of already uploaded images under the assignment text.
4. continue upload as usual.

Start submitting! The night is ours.

God ! i,m going to be a brainchild of illustrative possibilities of this theme :)

i have some doubts regarding this assignment - in the description its says that "chance to show us your view of the great space " and its include the human and the celestial world , so does the assignment focus on stars or the space ? there are several objects such as asteroid , planets , moon , satellite , sun , moon etc etc ...

Thanks

@ideapachakaran
It's pretty broad and I'm sure they mean anything celestial, space, night sky related.

I am guessing the winner now: A child looking into a telescope with an amazed look. The glass end of the telescope will also have some stars superimposed on them.
Done, someone shoot that now so we can move on :p

I have some night sky stuff I'd love to submit but no way I want it to be exclusive here. Far to much time invested to limit it's market.

I think they will accept anything that is well executed and in some way celestial. Imagination may not win the assignment but it will bring sales.

A child dreaming of becoming an astronaut should be one good idea. No stars or night sky required!

So who can I bribe to get my Assignment images reviewed? Can't get sales when they're sitting in the queue. Only a handful have been approved in the past week.

Yes, I am anxious to get high profile images in front of Buyer eyeballs. :-)
