Description: Spectacular views from all angles -- Todd Lake, so named for Mexican War veteran and early Central Oregon settler John Y. Todd, rests at an elevation of 6150 feet of sea level. It is located northwest of Mount Bachelor about a quarter mile north off the Cascade Lakes Highway. From the south end of the usually mirror calm lake, Broken Top is visible beyond the northern sloping meadow of soggy springs that feed the lake. From a viewpoint on that same soggy north slope, (wear waterproof boots,) Mount Bachelor reflects on the glassy surface. Todd Lake is roughly 2700 feet long and about 600 feet across (about 45 acres) and 56 feet deep when swollen from Spring mountain snowmelt.
