How to upload additional format?

But I wanna know how to upload additional format? As the F&Q says

I am an illustrator; do you accept illustrations?

We love illustrations! Vector files should be saved in raster format, JPG at a high resolution, saved at highest quality and submitted in this format. As soon as they are accepted or right from the first submission you can also upload an additional format (ai, cdr or eps extensions accepted) which will sell at a higher price.

But I couldn't find somewhere to let me upload a additional format........

thanks alot

Hi,

to upload an additional format hit Upload image button in Management area        and select Upload Additional Format tab.

Here's the direct link too: Upload Additional Format

Good luck!

The thing that Kaylatong said is one way yes.

I always do it another way.

When I uploaded an image (not accepted yet), I go to "pending files" and click on "edit" (of the image I want to upload the additional format). From there you can also upload an additional format. It's somewhere in the middle of the page.

(hope you understand, sorry for my terrible english)

I have a related question. I'm new to DT but I sell my vector illustrations on another stock site. I've uploaded 30+ illustrations that have been accepted in jpeg and eps (Illustrator 8) format, but only the jpeg is showing up in the listing. Does it take the inspectors additional time to review the eps file? I emailed support but haven't received a response.

Thanks,

Zack

Hi Zack.

First of all, welcome to Dreamstime.

My experience with additional format is that it does take longer before it is accepted.

If I upload an EPS with the JPG, it takes almost 1 or 2 weeks longer to be accepted then the JPG.

Hi,

hm, I think it make sense when the NEW jpgs are shown together with the eps-files.

When buyers are looking the new files and all the vector-illustrations are only jpgs it's not the best way.

It's only a jpg-preview of the eps-file they can buy in 1 or 2 weeks maybe.

For me it's better to wait 1 or 2 weeks longer, but then my new vector-illustrations can be sold as vector-illustrations, when they are going new online.

I'm with you, Juland.

I would love to see them accepted together.

Mostly because they get more attention when they appear online. It could mean more sales.

Oh, thank you, Maigi and Juland ... and all others who posted to this thread!

I've been so confused about uploading the additional format for vector drawings that I figured I better just stick with the .jpg versions until I could clearly understand the process and how to do it. Thanks to this thread, I think I finally understand how it works --yay!

I, too, am still very new to this ... I've been doing hand-drawn illustrations for 30+ years, but started transferring some of my work into vector files in the last six months. So, that tells you ... I'm an old lady, now armed with a wacom tablet and a computerized drawing program, and not enough wisdom to know what to do with the digitized files!

I do most of my vector drawings in CorelDRAW, then upload them as .jpgs because I wasn't sure how to submit them, or if there was a preferred format (AI, CDR, EPS) for native content. Will try uploading the vectors according your suggestions.

Again ... thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and advice. I'm awed by the talented works in your portfolios. My work is not nearly that sophisticated but I find it inspiring to see such fine work ... and it's wonderful to see such good will and helpfulness among the contributors here at DT. Good luck and continued good sales to all! : )

My jpg has been accepted but shows the additional format hasn't been uploaded. I did it again but it still says no additional format uploaded.

Very confusing...

The additional format for your image is being reviewed separately and you will receive an additional e-mail message informing you that it has either been approved or refused. It might take a little bit longer until your additional format is reviewed as compared to the .jpeg/.jpg file. However, you will certainly receive a notice once this is done.

Please, also note that having the .jpeg approved doesn't necessarily mean that your additional format file will also be approved.

I hope this brings some more clarity.

Greetings,

Petar

Anyone have a ballpark idea of how long it takes to get an additional format approved? I keep seeing my visits count go up, and I hear the visitor saying (in my head) "Nice, but I really need a vector image," when I've got the vectors sitting in the approval queue...

The waiting time for additional formats does change depending on several variables. However, if a customer really wants your image in additional format they will most certainly use the Request for additional format form, which is found just above the file details information. You will then be notified. I hope that gives you more peace for waiting the necessary time till your additional format files go online.

Cheers!

Thanks! I was being a little bit facetious in my post (I don't expect the herd of consumers to beat down my door demanding vectors of my butteflies :), but this is good info to have.

Thanx again,

John
