This picture is taken at Chengdu city, China. The red panda Ailurus fulgens, also called the lesser panda, the red bear-cat, and the red cat-bear, is a mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. It has reddish-brown fur, a long, shaggy tail, and a waddling gait due to its shorter front legs; it is slightly larger than a domestic cat. It is arboreal, feeds mainly on bamboo, but also eats eggs, birds, and insects. It is a solitary animal, mainly active from dusk to dawn, and is largely sedentary during the day. The red panda has been classified as Endangered by the IUCN because its wild population is estimated at less than 10,000 mature individuals and continues to decline due to habitat loss and fragmentation, poaching, and inbreeding depression, although red pandas are protected by national laws in their range countries. The red panda is the only living species of the genus Ailurus and the family Ailuridae. It has been previously placed in the raccoon and bear families, but the results of phylogenetic analysis provide strong support for its taxonomic classification in its own family Ailuridae, which, along with the weasel, raccoon and skunk families is part of the superfamily Musteloidea. Two subspecies are recognized. It is not closely related to the giant panda. Declineddecrease stock images, royalty-free photos and pictures

Vodita is a monastery located in the valley of the Vodita River (approximately 1 km upstream from the mouth of the Danube), about 15 km west of Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Mehedinti County. It is among the first documented monasteries in Wallachia, having been built at the expense of Voivode Vladislav I (Vlaicu Voda), at the suggestion and through the efforts of the monk Nicodim. It was most likely built between 1369 (when Nicodim arrived in Wallachia) and 1374. Following the Austro-Turkish War concluded with the Peace of Passarowitz in 1718, the Vodita Monastery suffered great damage and entered a period of decline. In the 19th century, the buildings of the former monastery were already in ruins. Between 1991 and 1995, an imposing body of cells was built, which also houses the abbot and the monastery refectory and the new wooden church. Tikal is the ruin of an ancient city, which was likely to have been called Yax Mutul, found in Guatemala. It is one of the largest archaeological sites and urban centers of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization. It is located in the archaeological region of the Peten Basin in what is now northern Guatemala. The site is part of Guatemala`s Tikal National Park and in 1979 it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tikal was the capital of a conquest state that became one of the most powerful kingdoms of the ancient Maya. Though momental architecture at the site dates back as far as the 4th century BCE, Tikal reached its apogee during the Classic Period, c. 200 to 900 CE. During this time, the city dominated much of the Maya region politically, economically and militarily, while interacting with areas throughout Mesoamerica such as the great metropolis of Teotihuacan in the distant Valley of Mexico. There is evidence that Tikal was conquered by Teotihuacan in the 4th century CE. Following the end of the Late Classic Period, no new major moments were built at Tikal and there is evidence that elite palaces were burned. These events were coupled with a gradual population decline, culminating with the site`s abandonment by the end of the 10th century. Tikal is the best understood of any of the large lowland Maya cities, with a long dynastic ruler list, the discovery of the tombs of many of the rulers on this list and the investigation of their moments, temples and palaces.
